Today's article is a collab with Amy, of Beausmith Blog, about natural skincare. If this topic interests you, you should check out her new blog for my article about the best natural skincare brands I have found so far.

Are you fed up with all the beauty products which do not work properly; pricey treatments and toxins which are present in your everyday skin care? Nowadays, it is quite difficult to find a suitable skin care regime that will actually nourish your skin and keep it healthy. With all the chemicals and improper use of products it is quite obvious why there are increased allergic reactions, different skin conditions and various outbreaks. These are some tips to green up your beauty routine the best way you can:

1. Simplify

Believe it or not your skin does not require seven different beauty products to keep it well nurtured and healthy. In a matter of fact, applying too many different products could seriously damage your skin further. The best you could do is consult with your dermatologist and find a beauty line that is suitable for your skin type and use it further own. Also, keep in mind that beside a cleanser, toner, a moisturizer and sunscreen your skin  does not need anything else.

2. Make Sure “Natural” Is Really Natural

Pay close attention to the products you are purchasing. Just because it says organic on the box it does not necessarily mean that it does not contain any toxic chemicals. This is exactly why you should learn how to recognise different labelling methods. Only the products which are labelled as 100% organic can be trusted not to contain any toxins whatsoever. But there are other beauty products which have labels like organic or made with  organic ingredients, which only mean that the products are mainly made from organic ingredients but there is a slight percent of some other, non-organic compounds in them.

3. Choose Non-toxic, Recyclable Packaging

Not only are some of these products damaging, but their packaging is also a good reason to be concerned. Some of these packaging’s are made from PVC, sometimes even referred to as “the poison plastic” for its cancer causing dioxins, hydrochloric acid and other harmful pollutants that represents a true hazard not only for the environment but for the people as well. Because of this it is a good idea to rely on glass containers or  PET and HDPE packaging which are considered to be safe plastic materials. Polypropylene is another form of safe plastic but it is less easily recycled.

4. Choose Organic Beauty and Grooming Products

If you want to be sure that your skin will get the best possible care, it is important to know what you are buying. Organic skin care is getting more popular by the minute, because more people are realizing the true benefits of these products. It is because, organic products are based on all natural ingredients grown without synthetic fertilizers and pesticides which guarantee a healthy body and a healthy environment. So you can find organic face moisturizers, skin masks, eye shadows and organic lipstick and lipgloss, and they look and feel fabulous on your skin.

5. Make Your Own Green Skin Care Products

Of course, another great and innovative idea is to use your wits and mix up your own beauty products. This way you will be positively sure that all that you are using is 100% safe and healthy for both you and your surroundings. There is no use of pricey treatments or exotic fruits; you can  mix up a few recipes using only the ingredients in your kitchen. This is a great way not only to save you health, but your money in the process as well.

Remember one thing – natural is always better. So preserve your skin by relying on natural, organic products, by learning to read the labels and most importantly by avoiding harmful chemicals that could damage your health. Only this way will your skin be able to flourish.
