Unfortunately I am a bit late getting this post up, with it now being the middle of February, but hopefully this review will still be able to help some of you! This is now my second Erin Condren Planner. I got my first one last year and it was the original vertical layout. While the vertical layout from last year worked fine, I didn't like how it separated each day into morning, day and night. So when I saw that with the new planners you'd have the option to choose a horizontal layout, I was overjoyed!
As per normal, the planner arrived in a beautifully packaged box. Everything was wrapped in beautiful tissue paper. The attention to detail in this packaging is marvelous!
Once you open up the tissue paper, you can see that bubble wrap was also used to keep everything even more safe and secure. With all this packaging, I can't say that I've ever had any issues with anything I've ordered from Erin Condren.
Unfortunately, something has changed since receiving my last planner - the quality of the paper. Here we now have thinner paper instead of the luxurious thick paper that the old EC planners used to have. Of course, if you've never had a planner from Erin Condren, you won't know any better and will be quite happy with this year's offering. After all, even though the paper is now thinner, it isn't ridiculously so. I have used different pens in here and not one of them has bled to the other side, so the quality is still there. Just not the same as previously. Will that stop me from purchasing another planner next year? Probably not.
This is what the horizontal layout looks like. I am sure that you've seen this before so I won't spend too much time on it. In case you were wondering how I use the horizontal planner, I have to admit that I have kind of copied Ashley from MakeupTIA's way of doing it. (My internet is currently playing up so I can't link the video, but I'll amend this post to add it as soon as I can). I put a line down the middle of the day if I have appointments and things to do. Otherwise, I leave it as is and just write down what I need to. I use the little box to the right for meal planning and keeping track of housework that needs to be done on particular days. I haven't actually figured out yet what I'd like to use the notes section for yet. Maybe I'll split it in 2 and have one side for blog post ideas and the other for shopping wants!
I also ordered these post it notes when I got my planner. I haven't actually used them yet so not sure what I'll be doing with them, but I can tell you the quality is great and I absolutely love the colours! Can't wait to figure out the best way to use them in the planner!
As for the stickers that come standard at the back of the planner, they are pretty nice. I use those all the time and they are very handy. I am not much into decorating my planners as I've seen many do on YouTube, so for me those stickers are plenty. Who knows though, I might get more into planner decorating the more I use my planner, now that I have a planner with the perfect layout for me!
