The Morning After The Night Before

Image from Pinterest

Everyone loves having a good evening out with friends, enjoying good food and good wine (or whatever your drink of choice might be). But sometimes a really great night turns into a truly awful morning, spent regretting our actions of the hight before and leaving us promising ourselves that we'll never drink again. Since we all know that this isn't going to happen, I've been inspired by Casper to share a few ways of making the morning after a little more bearable when spending the day snuggled on that cosy mattress is out of the question.

Skin Brightening 101

A few weeks ago, I came across Glossier and their beauty products and this gave me the idea for a post about the products I use for glowing skin and I thought it was a good idea as everyone is always looking for glowing skin and ways to minimise the amount of makeup and skincare worn/used everyday. It ties in very nicely with my quest for minimalism this year.

Favorite Summer Perfumes

I like to change up my perfumes with the seasons and with Spring now here, it is time to bring out the Spring/Summer scent out. For these seasons, I like light and fruity scents for the day time and warmer scents for the evening. There are some perfumes that I do use all year long however and they can almost be considered to be my signature perfumes. Here are my favourites in no particular order.

Les Beiges de Chanel - Healthy Glow Sheer Powder

I’m not sure if I’d been living under a rock, but this powder only came to my attention a year ago! Naturally, since this was Chanel and limited edition to boot, it was sold out practically everywhere, at least in my shade. Luckily, however, Chanel decided to bring this back last September and I was finally able to get my hands on it.

Let’s start with the obvious. As all Chanel products, the packaging of this powder is LUXE. I love the beige lid, making it stand out from the normal collection packaging. It has the normal mirror inside and a little brush that would facilitate powdering when out and about – although I haven’t actually tried using the brush that this comes with, I suppose it would work in a pinch.

The shade I’m currently using is 30 and although it can look quite dark in the pan, it applies sheerer, as can be seen on the swatch - you can barely make it out on my hand! That said though, if you wanted to have a light makeup day, this powder could be applied over moisturiser for a sheer wash of colour just to give you a bit of a glow (as the name suggests!). Although this powder is quite finely milled, it can look quite powdery if you’re not careful, so please, use a light hand.

Having had this for over a year now, I can say that this powder works in all seasons. In the summer, the shade I got works wonderfully as a powder and in the winter when I’m quite a bit paler, it works as a great contour.

All in all, another great offering from Chanel and one I will definitely repurchase!
